Connectivity for Regional Victoria
Quality telecommunications services are essential for making rural and regional Victoria attractive places to do business and live.
The VFF is a member of the Regional, Rural and Remote Communications Coalition (RRRCC) which was formed to raise awareness of the important role of connectivity for regional Australians and ensure their voices are heard.
Since its inception in late 2016, the RRRCC has made considerable progress in raising the profile of the communications needs of regional, rural and remote Australians. The RRRCC has been highly effective in promoting the issue of communications in the bush. Through these efforts, regional communities have benefitted from higher data allowances and business services over SkyMuster, funding for mobile network expansion, and a new program for digital literacy.
The VFF aims to make Victoria a pilot state for mobile and digital programs that benefit those in agriculture, particularly rural and regional Australia. We will do this through direct federal and state lobbying, an online member campaign and the harnessed support of all telecommunication companies.
