The Grains Research and Development Corporation’s (GRDC) primary purpose is to invest in research, development and extension (RD&E) to create enduring profitability for Australian grain growers.
We invest in RD&E projects to deliver new and improved varieties, farming practices, technologies and capability to the Australian grains industry. These investments drive the discovery, development and delivery of world-class innovation.
The GRDC RD&E plan 2023-28 is the key planning document that guides our investment in grains RD&E. Over the next five years, GRDC plans to invest more than a billion dollars in research, development and extension to deliver significant gains for Australian grain growers and propel growers and the industry forward through four strategic pillars:
Harness existing potential – Growers hit yield and profit targets, across every paddock, every season.
Grow markets and capture value – Growers have access to a diversity of markets and get more for the crop.
Reach new frontiers – Productivity of crops exceeds what we thought possible.
Thrive for future generations – Australia’s grains industry remains a global leader in sustainability, for people, the planet and our long-term ability to farm.
