UDV Policy COuncil Elections

The Annual Meeting will deal with nominations for UDV Policy Council positions. UDV is guided by a group of elected farmer members who represent the dairy farmers in our 10 dairy regions. The UDV Policy Council meet regularly to discuss priority issues for the dairy industry and guide the organisational policy response.

If you want to help influence or guide the UDV policy agenda; this is the perfect way to get involved and represent your local farmers.

The term of office is 2 years with a maximum of 4 terms (8 years total). Each year half of UDV Policy Council comes up for election. UDV Policy Council and VFF Board has agreed the role of UDV President will also fall vacant this year, as per VFF Constitution clause 8.6.3. The UDV President role will be again called for in 2020, in its usual cycle.

Therefore, the UDV Policy Council positions falling vacant in 2019 are:

  • UDV President
  • UDV Vice President
  • Region 1 (Cohuna & districts)
  • Region 3 (Murray Valley)
  • Region 5 (Macalister & districts) currently vacant
  • Region 7 (Warragul & districts)
  • Region 9 (Corangamite)

The UDV Annual Meeting will receive reports and deal with member resolutions. Resolutions, and supporting information, must be submitted to Ashlee Hammond, UDV Manager on behalf of the returning officer, at ahammond@vff.org.au or the UDV mailing address by no later than the close of business (5pm), Friday 15 March 2019.

It is recommended that resolutions are formed following debate at local branch meetings and submitted on behalf of a UDV branch, accompanied by one or two paragraphs of supporting argument.

To find out how to contact your local branch to discuss possible resolutions you can get in touch with your regional UDV representative or email udv@vff.org.au

Prior to the UDV Annual Meeting, resolutions are reviewed by a committee and then communicated for the knowledge of eligible voters.

Resolutions will be raised during the UDV Annual Meeting and must be voted on by a quorum of present UDV members. All financial UDV members and nominees are eligible to vote upon attending the UDV Annual Meeting.
