The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) today has announced the formal notice of the 2020 VFF elections, and is calling for nominations across a wide range of representative positions.
VFF Returning Officer and CEO Stephen Sheridan said nominations for a number of roles will open from tomorrow Thursday October 1 and will remain open for eligible members until close of business Thursday 22 October for interested candidates.
“VFF is calling for nominations for VFF President and Vice-President roles, as well as a number of VFF commodity groups and policy council positions.”
“The process will be conducted over the course of the next few months and we will announce the election results on December 10,” Mr Sheridan said.
The VFF election process this year will be held predominantly online, as a result of current COVID-19 restrictions on workplaces and public gatherings.
“Elections will be undertaken via electronic voting with an option available for members to use a postal ballot if they prefer or do not have the ability to cast an electronic vote,” Mr Sheridan said.
“The VFF has engaged a third-party, Link Market Services, to conduct the election. Link Market Services are well qualified and regarded, providing similar services to a number of major listed companies and not-for-profit organisations.”
The VFF is encouraging all members to ensure their membership contacts details, including email addresses, are correct to enable them to participate in the upcoming election process.
“As an organisation, we exist to be the voice of Victorian farmers so it’s important as many of our members as possible have their say on who they want to represent their views,” Mr Sheridan said.
Further details and information including all open positions, nomination forms, required processes, key dates and other important information can be viewed on the VFF website.
