The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) is holding a free webinar for all livestock farmers to inform them of the options available for livestock pain relief and says producers need to consider the best fit for their operation to achieve the best results.
VFF Livestock Group President Leonard Vallance said the number of pain relief product choices in the market has risen dramatically in the last few years and it can be difficult for livestock farmers when choosing the best product for their stock.
“We’ve seen an explosion in the number and availability of pain relief products in Australia, partly due to the increased interest in the use of these products from farmers.”
“There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to pain relief products. Farmers need to be aware of both the advantages and disadvantages of each product and consider the type of pain relief they are after,” Mr Vallance said.
Victorian farmers have the opportunity to register for a free online webinar run in conjunction with the VFF on July 9 hosted by Dr Andrew Whale from Livestock Logic that will cover the options available to dairy, beef and sheep farmers and the best fit for their operation.

The VFF will continue to advocate for the strengthening and application of Victoria’s best-practice animal welfare standards.
