Protecting yourself from rural crime webinar

Rural crime is a constant threat to farmers and rural households. Equipment, machinery and animals are being targeted by professional groups of thieves. Rural crimes are usually not detected until well after the criminals are well away.
The Victorian Farmers Federation Peninsula Branch would like to invite you to attend a practical online workshop on how to reduce the risk of rural crime.
- Learn from the Victoria Police how they are tackling rural crime and hear how they suggest you keep yourself and your property safe. Victoria Police will talk about crime data for the past 5 years broken down by locality – what’s been stolen and where.
- Hear from the rural insurer WFI on what sort of crimes are being reported to them. Learn what steps an insurance company like to see in place and how that can affect your policy cost.
- See what technology provider ION Security uses to detect and deter rural intruders. Infrared cameras, invisible laser trip wires, automatic notification on your mobile and silent alarm systems. Using the latest technology to keep your farm safe.
All rural landholders, land managers, and friends of agriculture are welcome to this event hosted by The Victorian Farmers Federation Peninsula Branch.
