In the first session, Vet Alison Gunn will delve into the best practices in animal husbandry. She will cover crucial topics such as;

  • Disinfection techniques and effective pain relief methods
  • Ensuring the well-being of your livestock
  • Ideal timing for important procedures like lamb marking, tagging, castration, and dehorning or disbudding of calves
  • Guide you through the essential equipment needed for these tasks and explain the best restraint methods to ensure safety for both the animals and handlers
  • Highlighting vaccination protocols that help prevent diseases in your herd, ensuring their long-term health and productivity.

The second session, led by Vet Jane Vaughan, will focus on;

  • Large animal euthanasia and emergency care
  • Invaluable insights into safe euthanasia practices, particularly the use of the captive bolt
