Join us along with Dr. Monica Dickson of Ballarat Sheep Veterinary Services and Dr. Tristan Jubb of Bendigo Sheep Vets at this FREE event and improve your goat health knowledge! This session will cover:
- Common internal parasites for goats
- How to do a worm egg count
- Determining which drench to use
- Best practice for off label use of sheep medication
- Biosecurity practices to protect your goats (PICs, NLIS tags and biosecurity plans)
- New biosecurity signs and how this protects you
- Phone A Vet (Vet Telemedicine)
Dr Monica Dickson (Ballarat Sheep Veterinary Services)
Dr Monica Dickson BVSc MAnSc studied Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland, graduating in 1988. A move to Victoria followed, working in mixed and small animal practice in Bendigo and Ballarat. Monica took an extended career break while raising a large family. When her youngest child had settled into school, Monica decided to pursue a career in animal production science and enrolled in Master of Animal Science by distance at CSU graduating with distinction in 2018.
Monica established Ballarat Sheep Veterinary Services in 2016 and enjoys her work with small ruminants and their owners. One of the services offered is Worm Egg Count testing. The business participates in the annual ParaBoss Worm Egg Count Quality Assurance Program to demonstrate the accuracy and precision in the testing provided.
Dr Tristan Jubb (Bendigo Sheep Vets)
Dr Tristan Jubb BVSc MVS PhD is a livestock production veterinarian who runs Bendigo Sheep Vets, a consulting company based in the sheep farming stronghold of Bendigo in central Victoria. Bendigo Sheep Vets provides advisory, training and contracting services to sheep and goat producers. Tristan is also the co-owner of Phone A Vet Pty Ltd that operates the tele-veterinary advice smartphone app Phone A Vet.
