UNITED DAIRYFARMERS OF VICTORIA
The United Dairyfarmers of Victoria (UDV) is the collective voice of Victorian dairy farmers, representing its members to governments and industry at state and local levels.
As a commodity group of the Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF), the UDV also provides representation on a broad range of agricultural issues affecting all farmers, not just those specific to dairy.
The UDV is also the largest member of Australian Dairy Farmers Ltd (ADF), thereby representing Victorian dairy farmers at a national level.
Dairy is Victoria’s largest agricultural industry, and the powerhouse of Australia’s $13 billion dairy farm, manufacturing and export industry.
Our state’s 4,284 dairy farms produce more than six billion litres of milk a year and provide work for 16,000 Victorians on farms and another 11,000 in milk processing factories. Victoria is export-oriented, accounting for 86% of Australia’s dairy exports. $2.3 billion a year worth of Victorian dairy products passes through the Port of Melbourne, where dairy is the largest container exporter.

Australian Dairy Farmers Limited (ADF) is the national body representing Australian dairy farmers.
The UDV is the major ADF member, and through ADF, the Australian Dairy Industry Council – a unique, whole of industry body for dairy, representing both the farming and processing sectors.
Victorian dairy farmers who are members of the UDV can now be direct members of the ADF by completing an ADF membership application form. The current UDV levy entitles ADF membership.
ADF membership will entitle you to attend ADF Annual General Meetings and any farmer can stand for the ADF Board provided they are a member of both their state dairy body and ADF. All ADF farmer members are also able to vote on the election of Business Directors.
